Past projects
I've not just set this website up out of the blue... I do actually have some experience.
From 2001-2003 I studied at Chelmsford College and completed a Legal Executive course. I really only took this course so that I had a foot in the door to becoming a legal secretary. I was looking forward to working in London and was ecstatic when I was offered a position as a trainee legal secretary at the top law firm in the city, Berwin Leighton Paisner. I worked in various departments over a two year period and got a lot of experience working for different people from trainee solicitors to partners at the firm. After my trainee period was complete I worked for two solicitors, one who soon became partner and one newly qualified.
After having my son in 2005 I decided I didn't want to be too far away from home and decided to find something local. I didn't limit myself to legal secretarial work when I was job hunting, I decided to see if they would offer me anything at the hospital that wasn't too far away. They did, and I worked there for a Consultant Urologist until I moved back to Chelmsford from Kent in 2006. I then got a job at the local hospital in
Chelmsford and worked there until I left for maternity leave before having my twin girls.
So now I have twin daughters of 4 and a half years, an 11 going on 15 yr old son and a husband who keeps me sane.
I have done a few bits and pieces over the years to earn a bit of extra money on the side, the most major project I can think of is typing and proof reading a
dissertation from an audio transcript for a friend I met online in Philadelphia, America. Over 7 hours of interviews recorded on a dictaphone to run back without a foot pedal catching every word in their American accents, but it was successful and interesting to type up (despite having to remember that colour
does not have a u and neither does favourite apparently).
I list a lot of things on eBay frequently and have listed quite a number of items for others. I take 20% of what the final selling fee is, this means I don't make a lot as the things I sell are not worth too much individually but they benefit from my 100% positive feedback and the listing and sales fees obviously are charged to me. To be honest selling things on eBay is never about the money for me, it's a great buzz when you see the last minute bids even if the final selling price is not as expected. It's a time consuming task that people don't generally enjoy and it's something that often gets put off until that rainy day.
Website building is something Im just starting to get in to. I don't have a lot of experience but I have set up this that you are reading, the Kids and Koffee website and I am currently setting up a webpage for my husband.
So, to end, I have experience with solicitors (some of them not the easiest people to deal with), doctors (some Drs don't have
the most legible handwriting (you may have heard that)). Audio transcription from some speedy speakers, some slow speakers, some different
accents but they have all been welcome challenges that I have previously overcome.
Ask me whatever you wish, and I will but try.....
